Preconditioning Strategies For Multiphysics Applications: Some Problems

چکیده

When modeling chemical processes we are concerned with mathematical models of more and more complexity: it is especially the coupling of equations describing different physical phenomena which adds a new level of complexity to the already present difficulties (3D domains, singular perturbations, heavy nonlinearities). In turn, this gives rise to an intolerable large computation time. In the present report, we give a short introduction to some properties of the mathematical models, present a few characteristic applications as well as a few experiences when solving them. Finally, we propose future directions of research.

We study the extreme singular values of incidence graph matrices, obtaining lower and upper estimates that are asymptotically tight.
